TikTok is a new social media platform that allows you to create and share 15 to 30-second clips. There are varieties of lip-syncs, comedies, and talent videos, to name a few. TikTok was initially released in September of 2016 but recently became more popular this year. Around 800 million people have downloaded this app worldwide. TikTok allows you to express yourself in a different way than any other social media platform.

Since so many people love the app, Hawk Eye, the online student newspaper, decided to hop on the trend. You can see Mr. Allemang do all the new TikTok trends. We currently have 77 followers and six videos. Our goal is to make it on the For You page and go viral!

“We wanted to reach out to more people and increase our followers on our other social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram). Also, we wanted to bring more attention to our online newspaper,” said Mr. Allemang in response to why Hawk Eye joined TikTok.
