In its last game before the playoffs, the boys varsity soccer team moved up a division to take on 4A’s Canon-McMillan Tuesday night.

Despite the Hawks’ evening the score before halftime, the Big Macs were able to get the go-ahead goal in the second half and hang on for the 2-1 win.

Jackson Friday scored the lone goal for the Hawks on a pretty curler into the back corner. This followed an early Big Mac goal that was scored on a deflection.

The Hawks finish the regular season with an overall record of 15-2-1 and a section record of 13-0-1. The Hawks claimed the Section 3 title and are the No. 4 seed in the WPIAL team playoffs. They will host No. 13 Indiana in the first round on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m.

Along with this impressive accolade, the Head Coach Doug Fink was named Section 3 Coach of the Year and senior, Captain Henry Gaston was named Section Player of the Year!
