Many band students have aspirations to be in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s (PMEA) Honors Band, and in the end, it came down to the lucky 13.

13 BPHS Band students were selected after successful auditions for the Honors Band.

“These students showed great prowess during the auditions, and they got rewarded,” director Chad Thompson said.

The students selected include percussionists Chris Bright (senior) and David Uhlmann (senior), trumpetists Joe Beaver (senior) and Austin Habbyshaw (junior), trombonist Daniel Gillece (junior), tubist Joe Wasko (junior), bass clarinetist Matea Pranjic (junior), flutist Macie McKitrick (junior), and clarinetists Alexandra DeRose (freshman), Emma Davin (junior), Caroline Greiner (junior), and Rachel Kinlan (junior).

The concert for the Honors Band will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland, PA.
