BPHS to offer flu shots to students

If you have not gotten your flu shot this year, this is the time.

BPHS has partnered with Pathways to SmartCare’s Vaccines For Students Program to supply children with flu shots on Friday, Oct. 24.

Children who get the flu shot must have the Influenza Vaccination Consent Form and Record signed by their parents. This form and information about the form can be found via the links at the bottom of the story.

Parents can also get their flu shots on the 24th. All they need to do is inform the nurse.

Getting a flu shot reduces the risk of getting the flu by 74%, according to the CDC. It can also reduce other sicknesses that have the same root of the flu virus. However, 41% of America don’t get a flu shot. This is bad, because if you get the flu that you aren’t immune to, it can result in hospitalization or even death.

So, get the signed form and come to the nurse on October 24 to lower your risk for the flu.
