“I want to win a State Championship my senior year. Then once I enter college I want to be a multiple time All-American and win a National Championship.”

Dunn recently announced that he would be continuing his academic and athletic career at Lehigh University.

After having a disappointing freshman and sophomore year in wrestling, a resilient Dunn came back his junior year to wow his peers, placing third at both WPIALs and at Hershey.

Even though Dunn lost in the quarterfinals in Hershey and in the first round at WPIALs, he didn’t give up. Instead, he rebounded quickly, turning an early defeat into a great finish, placing in 3rd in both contests. Click here for more on this.

“I believe I succeed at wrestling because of my work ethic,” Dunn said.

Dunn hopes to continue his success into his senior year when the season starts in November. He also would like to improve his stellar 38-10 record, including a 10-2 record in the post-season. As the most decorated wrestler on the team, he doesn’t think he will slow down anytime soon, even though he doesn’t think of himself as athletic.

“I am not the most athletic person but I make up for it with work ethic and a burning desire to win at all costs.”

When asked why he chose Lehigh over offers from the University of Pittsburgh and Kent State University, he had a very simple answer.

“Lehigh is a place where I feel I can reach my full potential as a person, a student and a wrestler,” Dunn said. “Their academics and networking for job placement after college is just superior and I think they have a great group of guys all striving for similar goals to my own.”

Dunn will be the ninth wrestler in Bethel Park’s recent history to wrestle in college.

Even after leaving BPHS, Dunn has learned many lessons from wrestling.

“Tough skin, sportsmanship, and hard work have propelled me to the spot I am in now,” Dunn said. “These are important values.”

To conclude, Dunn has one last thought to spread to his future opponents.

“I want to win worse than anybody else. I will find a way to beat my opponent.”
