In a resounding victory on Wednesday night, the Black Hawks wrestling team triumphed over the Blue Devils with a decisive score of 56-9.

Building on their recent dominance against Upper St Clair, the Hawks entered the dual with soaring expectations.

The action unfolded at 107 pounds, where Jaden Palombine exhibited a strong start with an early takedown in the first period, only to succumb to a 4-2 defeat.

However, the Hawks swiftly regained momentum as freshmen Pierce Reinhart and Colton Fisher secured two first-period falls.

Making his duals debut, sophomore Diyor Islomov secured another fall at 127 pounds.

At 133 pounds, Aiden Bench put up some points before clinching a fall, while at 139 pounds, Mason Kernan showcased a takedown clinic, ultimately securing a tech fall.

Ethan Higgins at 145 pounds continued the Hawks’ success with a swift pin.

In a hard-fought battle at 152 pounds, freshman Ian Bucheli faced a tough decision loss.

A nail-biting moment unfolded at 160 pounds when Maksim Miller, with seconds ticking away in a tied 3-3 match, found a way to get a locked hands and a reversal to win it in the last second.

At 172 pounds, Hunter Goelz displayed exemplary technique on top, securing a gritty fall..

The momentum continued at 189 pounds, with Aj Tomaino adding another pin for the Hawks.

At 215 pounds, senior Landon Hartman showcased impressive moves before securing a fall. However, the Hawks’ heavyweight faced a tough 2-0 loss in a hard-fought match, bringing the dual to a close.

Looking ahead, the Black Hawks are gearing up for a highly anticipated matchup against the Canon-McMillan Big Macs on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in the Hawks’ nest.
