Levi Metheny barrels his way through defenders during Southeastern Conference football action. The junior quarterback led Bethel Park to victory, 31-28, against No. 5-ranked Penn Hills. He passed for 189 yards and one touchdown. Plus, he rushed for two scores in the victory.

To many Penn Hills fans, the thought was an immediate blowout. On the other hand, BP fans had upset on their minds. And, the BP Varsity Football team delivered.

Bethel Park (4-3, 3-2) once led 21-6 before halftime, but Penn Hills was able to score a running touchdown by Billy Kisner and a passing touchdown to Milan Smith, all under four minutes in the fourth quarter. But, at their own 22 with 15 seconds left, Penn Hills was not able to convert, helping BP close out a 31-28 victory.

Alex Minton led the rushing attack for Bethel Park, with 141 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. Levi Metheny also had a good game, completing 15 passes out of 17 for 189 yards and a touchdown. He also had touchdown runs of 3 and 5 yards.

“It was a great game,” Coach Metheny said. “Levi Metheny was spectacular during the game, and he led our team to victory.”

Billy Kisner, quarterback for Penn Hills (5-2, 5-1), was limited to four complete passes for 106 yards out of seven tries. However, the main attack for the Indians was on the ground. Te’Shan Campbell rushed for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns on a mere eight carries. Kisner also had a rushing touchdown.

Matthew Monte kicked what proved to be the deciding field goal in the fourth quarter.
