Get hyped up for boys’ basketball

With the upcoming season of winter sports, everyone is getting excited for their own favorite team.

The one big winter sport with all the hype around it is basketball.

And rightfully so. While the boys’ home season doesn’t start till their game against Peters Twp. on Friday, Dec. 16, this team is coming off a decent record last year, and coupled with a close core of guys, the team looks for a great season this year.

The team is anchored by many talents from the group of seniors who have been playing all their lives together, to the juniors who are ready to show that they got what it takes to be elite.

One of these players who is doing his thing behind the scenes is junior Nick Bomar.

Bomar, who plays small forward and has been playing basketball for as long as he can remember, is a young star in the making with his great shooting and defense ability. He explained that there is a certain sense of team and an energy there that he has never felt before.

Bomar said, “The team this year is one that is a very close knit group of dudes who all have one goal in mind– to go out there and win one for the hawks.”

The team that excels in defense and is pretty good at draining 3’s, officially begins their season on Friday, Dec. 9 when they travel to Somerset HS for a two-day tournament.

When you watch this team, you can tell that these boys are out here to win and there is a very high chance that this team with this talent on it can win it all.

So come out and support your hawks for this very exciting basketball season!
