Wrestling fans expect great matches at World Team Trials

Through the weekend of June 21st, top tier wrestlers from around the country wrestle to compete at the World Championships. Some of these great athletes are returning All-Americans and Past NCAA Champions.

At 57 kg., Sam Hazewinkel from Norman, Oklahoma (Sunkist Kids) will have to wrestle the winner of a very elite bracket including, Andrew Hochstrasser, Danny Mitcheff, Tyler Graff, Zach Sanders, Ryan Mango, Jesse Delgado, Tony Ramos, and Nico Megaludis, who will all be battling along with others to get to the World Championships.

At 65 kg., Brent Metcalf from Iowa City (NYAC/Hawkeye WC) will have the winner between Kellen Russell, Logan Steiber, Frank Molinaro, Reese Humphrey, Jordan Oliver, Coleman Scott, Matt McDonough, and Joe Colon, who are just some of the elite wrestlers in the weight class.

At 74 kg., Olympic Champ and multiple World Champion Jordan Burroughs from Lincoln Nebraska (Sunkist Kids) will have his hands full as he has to wrestle the winner of a group of elite wrestlers, including David Taylor, Tyler Caldwell, Kyle Dake, Andrew Howe, Nick Marable, James Green, and many more. Most of the wrestlers in this weight class are returning National Champs and All-Americans, so it should be a very strong weight class.

At 86 kg., Pittsburgh’s own Keith Gavin (Titan Mercury) will be going up against the winner between Clayton Foster, Ed Ruth, Jon Reader, Quintin Wright, Jake Herbert, Chris Perry, and many other wrestlers.

At 97 kg., Jake Varner, returning Olympic Champion from (Nittany Lion WC), will have to battle the winner against Wynn Michalak, J.D Bergman, Dustin Kilgore and J’Den Cox. There should be some great matches at this weight.

The final wight class of Mens FreeStyle is at 125 kg. where Tervel Dlagnev from Columbus, Ohio (Sunkist Kids) will have to wrestle the winner of Dom Bradley, Tyrell Fortune, Zachery Ray, and returning NCAA Champion Nick Gwiazdowski.

There should be some great matches during the World Team Trials.
