Creators of popular podcast release new series

Creators of the popular fictional podcast, Welcome to Night Vale, has released a new series called Alice Isn’t Dead.

Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, creators behind Welcome to Night Vale, told New York Times that, like Welcome to Night Vale, the new podcast features humor but focuses more on creepiness.

Alice Isn’t Dead follows an unnamed character who is looking for her wife, who she believes is dead. Narrator Jasika Nicole (who also voices Welcome to Night Vale‘s character, Mayor Dana Cardinal) portrays a wandering truck driver.

As demonstrated in the first episode, “Omelet,” the structural format of the podcast is much more complex than Welcome to Night Vale. At different times during the podcast, the narrator interrupts herself and jumps right into talking about something completely unrelated.

The first episode of Alice Isn’t Dead was released March 8. It will have a total of 10 episodes.
