Four wrestlers bring home hardware from Gateway

The Hawks wrestling squad produced four place winners this past weekend at the Eastern Area Tournament at Gateway High School.

Seniors Riley O’Mara (182), Parker Loera (138), and Luke Montgomery (195) all took home second. Also, senior Ty Thimons took fifth place in his first tournament back after taking a year off.

“It’s great to be back,” Thimons said.

“There is a lot to work on, but a lot to build off of, ” Montgomery commented.

The Hawks took 11th as a team out of 22 teams.

“There is a lot of great competition and learning where we are continues to help us grow and become even more successful as a unit,” O’Mara said.

They look to Wednesday, Dec. 11 to their critical matchup against the Upper St. Clair Panthers. The match starts at 7:30 p.m. over at Upper St. Clair High School.
