Anthony Chiccitt, Tommy DiRienzo, Ryan Meis, Cooper Shoemaker, and Ronald Zeiler are all smiles at the start at the basketball season.

The 2,800 seat gymnasium at BP has been lonely since last February.

That is expected to change on Tuesday night.

The boys varsity basketball team is back at The Nest to host the Trinity Hillers.

“We’re expecting a big crowd. There’s nothing like playing in front of our students, we feed off of their energy,” said senior guard Tommy DiRienzo.

The Hawks are coming out of a Tip-Off weekend where they went 1-1, beating North Hills handily, and losing a close game against preseason No. 3 Fox Chapel.

A five-senior starting lineup, the Hawks’ throw experience out on the floor every night. Three of the five have been playing since freshman year.

“We have a lot of experience. There hasn’t been a situation that we haven’t been in together, so that definitely plays to our advantage each night,” added senior guard Anthony Chiccitt.

Come out and support the Hawks!
