Lady Hawks bring back streak against Lady Panthers

The Lady Hawks slap hands with their coaches during their game against USC on Thursday, Jan. 25.

On Thursday,  Jan. 25,  the Lady Hawks protected the nest by defeating Upper St. Clair with a score of 52-39. They now have beaten them twice in section play.

At halftime, the Lady Hawks were leading by 10 and they held the lead through the end.

Leading scorers of the game were Olivia Westphal with 15 and Maria Cerro and Kam Lach with 9 each.

“We all scored and it’s hard to stop a team when every one of us can score,” said Jill Acker.

The Lady Hawks are now 6-2 in their section and 11-4 overall and are currently tied with Mt. Lebanon for second place.

Their next game is on Saturday, Jan 26 at 8 p.m. at The Nest, against non-section, undefeated  North Allegheny Tigers for the DIPG classic. Show up and show out!

The girls then prepare for the Blue Devils on Monday, Jan. 29. The game will be played at Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. and will decide the 2nd spot in the section.
