Winter break is quickly approaching BPHS

Get ready to kick off the Christmas season with a fun holiday spirit week at BPHS!

The student government is proud to sponsor a holiday-themed spirit week next week, offering students a chance to celebrate the season in style and while also showing school spirit.

The week will run from Dec. 15 through Dec. 19, featuring a different theme each day. Themes for the BPHS Winter Break spirit week are as follows:

Dec. 15: Polar Express (pajamas)
Dec. 16: Grinchmas (green outfit)
Dec. 17: Candy Cane (freshmen and sophomores wear white, and juniors and seniors wear red)
Dec. 18: Christmas Vacation (Hawaiian shirts and vacation destination clothes)
Dec. 19: National Ugly Sweater Day (ugly Christmas sweaters)

In addition to spirit week, the student government is also hosting the 12 Spins of Christmas on its Instagram page.

A game that invites teachers to spin a wheel and earn other homerooms’ potential prizes, such as candy canes, cookies, donuts, hot chocolate, and more.

Furthermore, don’t forget BPHS is also having the annual combined Holiday Concert on Dec. 17 from 7-9:30 p.m.

BPHS’s combined Holiday Concert acts as a perfect opportunity for families and members of the Bethel Park community to enjoy holiday music and Christmas cheer.

Everything previously mentioned, alongside the already held Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and upcoming Hoops for Hope basketball toy drive, exemplifies Bethel Park’s dedication to making the holidays joyful for all.

So students are advised to mark their calendars, as most would agree, It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go.

BREAKING NEWS! Patrick Romito is back at it again, writing for the school’s newspaper at 7:30 a.m. When he’s not punching the keys, he’s practicing roleplay for DECA and running up and down the soccer field. Patrick does it all! Patrick is a second-year student in Scholastic Publications. Last year, he crafted 145 articles during the school year. One of his main focuses in Scholastic Publications is to continue to write stories for our school’s online newspaper and to publish 180 articles, beating our school’s record of 172! When asked why he joined Scholastic Publications, he said, “I’ve always enjoyed writing, and this class offers just that.” Balancing school and clubs, Patrick plays travel soccer for the team Sporting BP, competes for the varsity boys soccer team, and works as a lifeguard at Highpoint Fitness! Patrick is a fourth-year member of our school’s DECA club. One of his biggest accomplishments is making it to States in Hershey, Pa, qualifying second for the Sports Management roleplay! After high school, Patrick wishes to travel to Italy and pursue a career in Marketing and Advertising. Patrick describes himself as composed, compassionate, and driven—traits poised for success academically and beyond.
