REACH presents assembly on cyber bullying

On Monday, Oct. 20, as part of the ongoing REACH initiative, the students of BPHS gathered in the auditorium that morning to hear a motivational speech about bullying. There, speaker Philip L. Little from the PA Attorney General’s Office encouraged students to put an end to cyber bullying.

His main goal was to talk about cyber bullying. He told students about how everything one posts leaves a “digital footprint,” and that posts on social media never actually go away.

Little shared with the students real stories about bullies, and he told them what happens when the person being bullied threatens the bully.

Bullying is something that happens everywhere, including Bethel Park. In a letter sent home to members of the Bethel Park School District, superintendent Mrs. Rose said, “It is unfortunate that we live in a world where anger, hate, and prejudice still exist. These sad incidents do not define us as a school district.”

REACH is run through PACS, and Mrs. Hornfeck is a very active member in this organization with students.
