Staff Spotlight – Mr. Fink

Mr. Fink is a history teacher and the head boys soccer coach. Though his name plate outside of his room reads “Dr. Fink, Life Coach.” He has been teaching at the high school for 20 years.

Q: Where did you attend high school and college?

A: I attended high school in Londonderry, New Hampshire and then attended college at Duquesne University.

Q: Have you taught anywhere other than BPHS?

A: I did part of my student teaching at Upper Saint Clair High School but I have only taught at BPHS.

Q: What made you decide to become a teacher?

A: I’m still trying to figure that out, ha!

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A:  I enjoy traveling to other states / countries.  I also enjoy listening to music and going to Fiori’s to eat pizza with my family.

Q: Where is your dream vacation?

A: Bondi Beach in Australia

Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

A: Glasgow, Scotland

Q: Do you have any bucket list items?

A: I do not have any bucket list items.  A wise man once told me that I should just try to live one day at a time.

Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?

A: I will welcome my first daughter into the world in March.

Q: Do you have any cool talents or fun facts about you that you can think of?

A: I lived in five different states growing up because my dad was in the military.

Q: If you had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of your life what would it be?

A: Definitely Fiori’s pizza!

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: My biggest pet peeve is when people quit.

Q: Do you have any celebrities or important family/ friends you look up to?

A: I enjoy Christian Bale and Matt Damon’s films but I always looked up to my own grandfather the most.

Q: Do you have a favorite music genre, singer, or band?

A: I do love music very much and there are so many great artists and bands that I enjoy listening to.  Some of my favorite ones would be Oasis, The Verve, and The Black Crowes.

Q: Do you have a favorite sports team?

A: I grew up in New England so I started following all of the Boston sports teams when I was young.  However, my favorite team would have to be the Bethel Park High School boys soccer team.  I really enjoy coaching our student-athletes here
