With that, the Bethel Park High School fall 2025 sports season has come to an end. Bethel Park had an exemplary season this year, with many more to come.
Let’s start with the boys varsity soccer team, with an overall record of 14 wins, 4 losses, and 3 ties!
Senior forward Xavier Jackson (captain, all-section, all-WPIAL, all-state) scored 20+ goals!
Q & A with Xavier
Q: Biggest inspiration?
A: My dad because he inspires me to want to do things that make me a better person more than anyone else. His motivation and encouragement completely change my mindset going into things and open my vision to trying new things. At the end of the day, he wants me to turn out as a better person than he is, and that’s why I always look up to him.
Q: What’s your favorite team?
A: Chelsea. Player: Cristiano Ronaldo.
Q: Best Memory?
A: The game vs. Mars. celebrating in the locker room after the game.
Q: How long have you been playing soccer?
A: 13 years.
Q: Plans for after High School?
A: IUP in College, Majoring in Culinary Arts.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Being a chef in Italy.
Q: Pregame rituals?
A: Sleep. Same warmup routine.
Q: Any other sports?
A: Track, kicked for the football team.
Q: Best advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: Off field: “Never stop working hard towards my goals.” On: “Play for the person next to you. As in making sacrifices for the teammates.”
Q: Any advice for future players?
A: Nothing’s given. You gotta work for everything.
Q: Would you do it all again if you could?
A: Absolutely.
Q: Any advice for future/current freshmen?
A: Keep your grades good.
Q: How did it feel to win all-section, all-WPIAL, leading goal scorer, and all-state?
A: Felt amazing, hard work paid off.
Senior goalkeeper Luke Rubican was a strong force in goal for the Hawks. He had several clean sheets and was named all-section as well.

A: My dad. Because he just really encourages me to work hard.

A: Wolverhampton. Player: Manuel Neuer.

A: After we beat Mars in the quarter finals, we all got root beers.
Q: How long have you been playing soccer?
A: 14 years.
Q: Plans for after HS?
A: Play college soccer.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Married, have family, have a good job.
Q: Pre-game rituals?
A: Pray, lay jersey on bench, put on before walking down.
Q: Best advice you’ve gotten? On and off the field?
A: On: Talking as much as possible, have good footwork. Off: Know that everyone’s situation is different, don’t judge everybody.

A: Punted for football.
Q: Favorite food?
A: Lasagna.
Q: Favorite ice cream flavor?
A: Cinnamon.
Q: Any advice for future/current freshmen?
A: Take every moment like it’s your last, don’t take everything for granted.
Q: What did it feel like to win all-section? And 8 shutouts?
A: It felt awesome, but it would’ve felt better if we won WPIALS.

A: Of course.

Q. What was it like to coach all of the seniors?
A. I enjoyed coaching the 18 seniors. It was like a family, because I worked with those guys for the last four years, and I saw them improve and grow up both on and off the field.
