In preparation for a brand new school year, tryouts for the Bethel Park cheerleading squads start the week of June 1-June 5!

Be prepared for the new cheer season by learning information for your grade about what is required for tryouts.

For all grade levels: Everyone must learn the Level 1 Cheer “Raptor Power” prior to tryouts.

For grades 7th-8th: Middle School must learn the Level 1 Dance “Turn It Up.”

For grades 9th-12th: High School must learn the Level 2 Dance “Bring the Fire.”

This year, no sideline cheers are required to learn for tryouts.

For tryouts, every cheerleader is required to perform jumps and tumbling.

Here are the dates for tryout practices and tryout day:

You must know that you cannot try out for any team that you want; there are certain rules that apply to different grades. The varsity game-day squad only allows students in Grades 11-12 who meet requirements. The JV game-day squad only allows students in 9-10 grade who meet requirements. The middle school cheerleading squad only allows students in 7-8 grade who meet requirements. The competitive spirit squad only allows students in 9-12 grade who meet requirements.

There is no set number of spots on any teams.

Any and all skills the athlete tries out with will be used the rest of the year.

Cheerleaders who were dismissed from the squad or quit may be eligible to try out again after one full season has been completed.

Temperatures will be taken before each gathering and event for cheer. All COVID-19 regulations apply and good health is mandatory.

Varsity/UCA-trained and certified judges will be present to score and aid the coaching staff in the selection of the teams.

We encourage all who are interested, to try out this 2021-2022 season! Hope to see you there!
