Three reasons why the Lakers are going to repeat as champions
The Lakers were the 2020 NBA champs, and with re-signings and new signings, they are looking like a favorite to win again.
The first move the Lakers made was re-signing Anthony Davis through the 2022-2023 season. This is huge for the team because Davis is LeBron James’s right-hand man. With both James and Davis averaging 27 points throughout the playoffs last season, it’s safe to say that without Davis re-signing, the Lakers and LeBron would not be putting up the same numbers.
The second move the Lakers made was acquiring Dennis Schroder from the Oklahoma City Thunder. They got Schroder for the 28th pick in the 2020 draft and shooting guard Danny Green. This is a good pickup for the Lakers because Schroder is a good starting point guard for the Lakers, and they get rid of Green who struggled all of last season.
The third reason the Lakers are going to repeat as champions is because of the acquisition of Montrezl Harrell. He is a physical, big man that can use his size and is a good backup for Davis and Marc Gasol.
With the Lakers’ offseason moves, they are looking like a favorite to win the title back to back.
