Islanders host Hurricanes in Game 3 down 2-0 in the series

After the Islanders’ 2-1 loss against the Hurricanes in Game 2 on Sunday afternoon, the series, 2-0 Carolina, now shifts to Carolina for Games 3 and 4.

In Game 2, the Islanders got a goal at 13:17 of the first period from centerman Matt Barzal to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead. They held their lead into the second period.

No goals were scored in the second period, and the Islanders still held a 1-0 lead into the third period.

With 0:17 seconds into the third period, Carolina came back and tied the game at 1-1 when Warren Foegele got his fifth goal of the playoffs. Then Carolina got another goal from Nino Niederreiter, giving the Hurricanes the 2-1 win.

In Game 1, the Carolina won by the score 1-0 in overtime to take a 1-0 series lead.

In Game 2, Carolina won by the score of 2-1 to take a 2-0 series lead.

When game 3 comes around, the Islanders will be trying to cut the series deficit in half.

Game 3 faces off Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at PNC Arena.
