Kevin Kogler advances to third during the Hawks game vs. USC on April 10.

The baseball team (6-2, 3-1 in section) is looking to finish the first half of section play on a high note. They will have back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday after a rainout on Monday. They will take on the defending state champions Canon-McMillan on Tuesday and Baldwin on Wednesday.

Last year, the Hawks were 2-0 against both teams, so they are looking to carry the success over to this year as well. Sophomore Eric Chalus (2-0) will be the starting pitcher against the Big Macs and junior Evan Bromley (3-0) will get the nod against the Highlanders.

Junior all-section selection Kevin Kogler had a big week last week with a home run and a couple of multiple-hit games. He will look to build off of that as he says, “Last Tuesday, I went to go look at puppies, and I’ve been locked in at the plate ever since them.”

First pitch is 4 p.m at Purkey Field on Tuesday, April 16.

On Wednesday, April 17, the game is away at Baldwin, and the first pitch is at 4 p.m.
