Last Friday, March 8, the Lady Hawks defeated the State College Little Lions, 55-46, to advance to the second round of the PIAA playoffs, where they’ll face Peters Township (25-0) for the fourth time this year.

After the first quarter, the Lady Hawks trailed 12-10. They turned things around in the second quarter and took a 28-22 lead at halftime.

¨We haven’t played a game in a while, so the first quarter we were a little off, and they were hitting their shots. Luckily, they cooled down in the second, and we were able to get what we wanted,” said junior guard Lauren Mullen, who chipped in 12 points.

The Little Lions cut the Lady Hawks’ lead and tied things up at 39 after three, but Bethel was able to take control of the 4th quarter.

Other leading scorers were freshman Emma and junior Maddie Dziezgowski with 17 and 15 points apiece.

The Lady Hawks are looking forward to playing the Indians once again in the second round of the PIAA playoffs.

This game will be played on Tuesday, March. 12 at 7 p.m. at Canon-Mac High School.

Tickets, which are $3 for students and $6 for adults, will be for sale Monday and Tuesday in the Athletic Office.

Let’s go, Lady Hawks!
