Hawks soar high on Senior Night

Seniors line up for their group pic on Senior Night.

The Hawks pulled off a 3-0 win against Meadville on Senior Night on Sunday, Feb. 24.

The seniors recognized on this night were: Adam Slater, Austin Read, Chris Toth, Connor Price, Garret Legg, George Tomko, JC Bele, Luke Schreiner, Nick Guimond, Thomas Worcester and Vincent Vituccio.

The game started off to a slow start for the Black Hawks being outshot 10-5 by Meadville in the first period. Senior goaltender Nick Guimond held the Bulldogs at bay in the first and throughout the whole game recording a shutout.

Regarding his success between the pipes, Nick Guimond said, “The team really helped me out, I was glad to be able to pull out a shutout with them.”

In the second period, the Hawks battled back and took the lead to make it 1-0. Senior forward George Tomko netted the goal on a breakaway.

Then, in the third period, the Hawks continued their dominance and recorded two goals–the first by Chris Toth and the second by Vince Vituccio– to win it 3-0.

The Hawks start their playoff run Monday, March 4 at the Spencer Family YMCA at 9 p.m. They sit as the No. 3 seed and take on No. 6 seed Central Catholic.
