After a disappointing 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night, the 5X time Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins will face off in rivalry fashion against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

Last time out (Saturday, Jan. 19), the Lightning won 6-3 to the San Jose Sharks.

The Lightning are now 37-10-2 and are in first place in the Atlantic Division.

The Penguins are in the midst of a three-game home stand that began on Monday night with a match-up with the New Jersey Devils, continues Wednesday night against the best team in the NHL the Tampa Bay Lightning, and ends with a match-up against the Ottawa Senators on Friday night.

The Penguins are now 26-17-6 and are in fourth place in the Metropolitan Division and are one point behind the Columbus Blue Jackets, two points behind the Washington Capitals, and five points behind the Metropolitan Division leaders the New York Islanders.

When Wednesday night comes around, the Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning will meet for the second time this season. These two teams last played in Pittsburgh where Tampa Bay won that game 4-3 on November 15, 2018.

Even though the Penguins still have injuries to Zach Aston-Reese and Justin Schultz, the Penguins are looking to break this two-game loosing streak and rebound after a disappointing 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night.
