Junior Tommy DiRienzo makes a layup in the Hawks’ game vs. Hempfield on Dec. 19.

The boys basketball team travels to Mt. Lebanon Tuesday night to face the Blue Devils in a BIG section matchup. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks go into Lebo carrying an 8-3 record overall and a 0-2 record in the section. Coming off a big bounce-back win on Saturday vs North Hills, they look to make it two-in-a-row Tuesday night.

When asked about his thoughts on the game, senior Alex Mullen said, “This is a huge game for us, and we all want to beat them at their place.”

It’s been three years since the Hawks have gone into the Devils Den and picked up a win. No one on their current roster has been able to taste sweet victory at Lebo yet, but they are confident that will end tonight.

Junior guard Anthony Chiccitt said, “We have one goal, that is go in there and get a win.”

Mt. Lebanon boasts a 10-2 record overall, and they are 2-0 in the section.
