After a disappointing 5-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night in which the Penguins eight-game winning streak was snapped, the 5X time Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins will face off against the Florida Panthers on “’70s Theme Night” Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.

Fans are invited to wear their best ’70s inspired attire and enter to win Penguins Jerseys. The game-night presentation will also include numerous video and musical elements from the 1970s.

The Panthers just finished up a home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets in which they lost in overtime 4-3 on Saturday night. Now the Panthers begin a five-game road trip that begins Tuesday night in Pittsburgh against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Panthers are now 17-16-7 and are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division.

The Penguins are just finishing up a three-game homestand that began with a 4-0 shut-out win against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, a 5-3 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night, and now ends with a matchup with the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night before going on a five-game road trip that begins on Friday, Jan. 11 in Anaheim.

The Penguins are now 23-13-6 and are in second place and are two points behind the Metropolitan Division leaders Washington Capitals.

When Tuesday night comes around, the Penguins and Panthers will meet for the first time this season, then they will play each other three more times, one more time in Florida on February 7 and one more time in Pittsburgh on March 5.

Even though the Panthers have some players injured, it should be an entertaining game on Tuesday night, “’70s Theme Night” in Pittsburgh.
