Pens rumble with Rangers Wednesday night in New York

After an impressive 3-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night, the 5X time Stanley Cup champions Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the New York Rangers Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden at 7 p.m. in New York.

The New York Rangers just finished up a brief two-game road trip that started with a 4-3 win in Nashville on Saturday night and ended with a 2-1 win in Saint Louis on Monday night.

After a match-up with the Penguins on Wednesday night, the Rangers will begin another road trip that goes through Colorado on Friday night, Arizona on Sunday night, and ends in Vegas on Tuesday night.

The Rangers are now 17-14-7 and are in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Penguins are finishing up a three-game road trip that started off with an impressive 6-1 win against the Saint Louis Blues on Saturday night, a 3-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on New Year’s Eve, and ends up with a rivalry showdown with the New York Rangers on Wednesday night.

The Penguins are now 21-12-6 and are in third place in the Metropolitan Division.

When Wednesday night comes around, the Penguins and Rangers will meet for the first time this season, then they will play each other three more times twice in Pittsburgh on February 17 at 12:30 p.m. and April 6 at 7 p.m. and once in New York.
