Lady Hawks to battle Blue Devils

Maddie Dziezgowski goes up for a layup in Bethel’s game vs. Shaler on Feb. 9.

The Lady Hawks travel to Mt. Lebanon Thursday night for their first road section game.

The Hawks are off to a fast start, 5-0 overall and 1-0 in section play. Sophomore Liv Westphal attributes the quick start to the “good team chemistry.”

The last time the Lady Hawks made the 10 minute bus ride to the Devils’ Den, they “broke the curse” of consecutive losing seasons at Mt. Lebanon. Since head Jonna Burke took the helm at BP some 16 years ago, she could never top Mt. Lebanon on the road, until last season.

The Hawks look to build on their new streakĀ and make it two-in-a-row.

Make sure you hit the road and support the Lady Hawks at 7:30 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon High School as they look to go 2-0 in section play.
