After an impressive 2-1 shootout win against the New York Islanders on Monday night, the 5X time Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the United Center in Chicago.

The Chicago Blackhawks just finished up a  road game in Winnipeg on Tuesday night  before coming home to Chicago to face the Pens on Wednesday night followed by a rematch with the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night. They are now 9-18-5 and are in seventh place in the Central Division.

The Pens are finishing up a brief three-game road trip that went through Ottawa on Saturday night, New York on Monday night, and now Chicago on Wednesday night. They come back home to PPG Paints Arena for a three-game home stand with Boston on Friday, Dec. 14; Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, Dec. 15 and Anaheim Ducks on Monday, Dec. 17.

The Penguins are now 13-10-6 and are in fourth place in the Metropolitan Division.

When Wednesday night comes around, the Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks will meet for the first time this season, then they will play each other one more time in Pittsburgh on Jan. 6.

Even though that Pittsburgh has injures to Patrick Hornqvist, Dominick Simon, Matt Murray, Matt Cullen, and Justin Schultz, it should be an entertaining game on Wednesday night in Chicago.
