Hawks send Steel Valley and Holy Ghost Prep packing

In the championship game of the Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 8, the boys basketball team defeated Holy Ghost Prep 70-56 to take the crown.

The high scorers were junior guard Ryan Meis with 27 points, junior guard Tommy DiRienzo with 16 points and senior guard Alex Mullen with 11 points.

On Friday, Dec. 7, the Hawks took it to the Steel Valley Ironmen and won 85-72.

The high scorers Alex Mullen with 30 points, Tommy DiRienzo with 22 points, Ryan Meis with 19 points and Anthony Chiccitt with 10 points.

Alex Mullen had six threes and Tommy DiRienzo had five threes.

“We played well as a team. We are ready to get the season rolling, ” said Alex Mullen.

“It was a fun weekend, ” said Ryan Meis.

“Great teamwork all around,” said Anthony Chiccitt.

The 2-0 Hawks are on the road against Trinty on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
