Girls lacrosse: Players to watch

This year, the girls lacrosse team, with an array of talent, has a likely chance to make it far, and even possibly win the WPIAL Championship.

Two standout players to look out for are senior Maggie Marsteller and freshman Kylie Vetere.

Maggie Marsteller, a speed demon, gets plays started. She is also the captain of the varsity team, and inspires and motivates her talented team members.

Kylie Vetere, a speedy freshman who plays JV and varsity, dekes and dangles around the defense and makes them look like fools. She has a lot of experience from her years of playing hockey along with lacrosse.

Last year, the team made it to the second round of the playoffs, but they sadly lost to South Hills rival, Mt. Lebanon.

Be sure to check out Marsteller, Vetere, and the whole team in action this season. Their first home game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m. They face the South Fayette Lions. For a complete schedule, click here.
