The rifle team went 2-0 this past week.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, they defeated Avella Area High school. The final score was 796-59x to 793-44x.

Sophomore Xavier Gaefke was a big part in the Hawks’ win with a total score of 100-10x.

“Our win against Avella was all about positivity,” Gaefke said. “Coach had us reinforce to each other that there was nothing to worry about.”

On Thursday, Jan. 18, it was the Mount Lebanon Blue Devils who fell victim to the Hawks. The final score was 800-64x against their 797.  (The Blue Devil’s x count was not reported).

The team next heads to Trinity on Tuesday, Jan. 23 and then hosts USC on Thursday, Jan. 25.
