The Lady Hawks volleyball team glared through the net at the Moon Area Tigers for the second time this season on Thursday, Sept. 28. The girls won this section game again by a score of 3-1.

Bethel took the first two sets with relative ease, but errors kept Moon within reach throughout both sets.

The Tigers capitalized on this in the third when they won. The Lady Hawks were ahead later in the set after the teams exchanged points back and forth for most of the time, but the girls could not finish.

The Black Hawks bounced right back and took the fourth set to win the game.

This now makes the varsity squad 5-4 overall, 4-3 in section, and 1-1 in non-section.

The JV team suffered their second loss of the season to the Tigers after losing 0-2. They are now 7-2.

The Hawks return home on Monday, Oct. 2 to face a non-section match against returning WPIAL champions the Seneca Valley Raiders. This will also be the girls’ Dig Pink game, where activities such as a raffle basket auction will take place to benefit breast cancer. This will be the Lady Hawks’ second to last home game as they will start a four-game away stretch following Monday’s game.

Hope everyone can make time to come out on Monday and help support the team and a worthy cause! Go Hawks!
