Lady Hawks can’t tame the Panthers

Victory was in reach, but the Lady Hawks’ volleyball team could not grasp it against Upper St. Clair on Thursday, Sept. 14. The girls fell 2-3.

“Even though we lost, we fought for every point,” said junior outside hitter Brenna Manko. “That’s something I’m really proud of; it’s something we all are proud of.”

The Panther’s were up 2-0, but the Black Hawks were able to fight back and take it to 5. The set scores were 16-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 15-17.

Brenna Manko was on fire totaling 21 kills! Middle hitter Erin Sullivan also racked up double digit kills with 10.

The JV team keeps their winning streak alive; they are now 4-0. The varsity squad has a 2-2 overall record and a 1-2 section record.

Thank you to all the students that showed up at the match and for sticking with us to the very end (we know it was a long one)! Next week, the girls have three matches: Pine Richland (away on Monday), Mt. Lebanon (home on Tuesday), and Canon Mac (away on Thursday).

Tuesday night is Spirit Night, so bring all your friends! There will be contests and prizes during the match too! Ask a player about how to get a free admission ticket.

Roll Hawks roll!
