This week, the Pittsburgh Pirates lost all three games to the Milwaukee Brewers. This puts them 6.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals and makes this upcoming weekend series ever so important.

Now that we are in September baseball, the time is ticking down for all contenders who look to clinch playoff berths this postseason. The Pirates are no different and look to clinch as well. But the Pirates have had a harder goal since day one of the 2015 season. It was to win the division.

It doesn’t help that the Cardinals are in the division, but the next three games would definitely help make, or completely break, the hopes of that goal.
