Michael Musciano, Staff Writer

The boys’ basketball team (18-6-0) will be traveling to Chartiers Valley on Saturday, March 7 to play New Castle for the first round of the PIAA playoffs. The game starts at 3 PM.

They advanced to the quarter finals in the WPIAL playoffs after beating Fox Chapel 49-45 in the first round. They then went on to lose to to New Castle 73-46 in the quarter finals.

The boys have had a great season this year and finished in 2nd behind USC and hope to win a trophy spot in these upcoming playoff games.

Bethel has played against New Castle before and they have proven to be a worthy opponent having beaten Bethel two weeks ago, but the hawks bring a lot of talent and pride to the table. They’ll look to their top scorers such as Jake Murphy, Joey Mascaro, and Jake Dixon to support their team on offense.
