Several BPHS Honors and AP German students earned multiple national honors on the 66th annual National German Exam sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German.
Together, they earned three gold awards, seven silver Awards, one bronze award, and five achievement awards.
Quite the feat when realizing they were among more than 12,000 participants across the nation.
Students who stood out on the Level Four exam were:
- Adele Stamenov (95th percentile)
- Benjamin Campbell (95th percentile)
- Colin Finnegan (80th percentile)
- Gillian Uhl (84th percentile)
- Holly McGough (80th percentile)
- Katherine Tabler (98th Percentile)
- Samuel Hoppe (86th percentile)
Campbell and Stamenov are now eligible to apply for a summer study scholarship in Germany.
Tabler would have as well, but she is ineligible after spending her junior year in Germany studying through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program.
Christian Tabler earned a bronze award, whilst Reed Zeis, Sydney Miller, and Zoey Roberts received achievement awards.
However, that wasn’t the only test taken.
Students who performed well on the Level Three Exam were:
- Matthew Williams – (81st percentile)
- Tessa Braham (81st percentile)
- Thomas Guenther – (82nd percentile)
Sophomores Eliza Sterbal and Nathaniel Stewart also received achievement awards.
The impressive accomplishments of these students show that the Bethel Park German program has a bright future ahead of it.
Despite the seniors leaving, it’s safe to say the Bethel Park German program is in good hands.
