On Monday, April 18 in homeroom, senior Alec Dady was rewarded with two glazed donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts, as promised by Mr. Allemang, for finding his Triconderoga pencils.

Upon seeing the PSA on the morning news Friday, April 15, Dady realized that he had mistakenly been holding onto Allemang’s pencils during the week. Dady found the pencils in Mr. Travis’ Writing for the Sciences classroom in Room 214, which is the same room Allemang teaches in the period before.

Allemang believes that someone took the pencils from his cart on Monday, April 11 during his Period 3 class. He has yet to find the culprit.

Dady said, “I thought it was pretty funny that I was the one that ended up with the pencils because I did not know whose they were and that their owner cared about them that much to make a PSA announcement about the [two] Triconderogas, so it was pretty funny.”

Allemang’s original promised rewards were Mangs™, but since Dady isn’t a student of Allemang’s and wouldn’t benefit from them, Dady was offered Dunkin’ Donuts instead.

“Those donuts made my Monday and saved the day that is usually the worst of the week,” said Dady.

In the end, though, the donuts were a measly reward in comparison to seeing Allemang’s joy when reunited with his pencils.

“Ever since I’ve been reunited with my pencils, I’ve spent more quality time with them and kept a closer eye on them,” said Allemang, “My heart is elated, and I’ve been on cloud nine ever since.”
