Allemang finds his Triconderoga™ pencils
Kids and teachers all over the school were very concerned when English teacher, Mr. Allemang, reported that he had lost two wooden Triconderoga™ pencils.
Allemang said: “It’s far superior to any other pencil. Not to be confused with the inferior Ticonderoga® pencil, the Triconderoga™ has three sides, and it fits comfortably in the contours of your fingers. Made of 100% American Cedar wood, it is the softest pencil in the world, and its eraser can withstand even the biggest mistakes.”
The pencils went missing from his cart around 9:45 AM on Monday, April 11.
Allemang aired a public service announcement Friday, April 15 during homeroom to inform students of the missing pencils and to urge them to contact their local authorities if they had any information. He still does not know who had stolen his pencils.
Shortly after homeroom on Friday, April 15, Alec Dady returned the pencils, saying that he found them on his desk in his Writing for the Sciences class. The Writing for the Sciences classroom is, coincidentally, in the same classroom that Allemang teaches in the period before.
Dady’s reward for finding the pencils is two glazed donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts since Mangs (the reward) would be no benefit to him as he is not a student of Allemang’s.
“I do believe in miracles,” said Allemang. “There is still good in the world.”
Most people spend their time hanging out with their friends and going to the movies. But not Leslie Folino.
Leslie is a very shy girl who keeps to herself...

Fantastic article.
Leslie Folino’s deft use of sarcasm in this heartwarming story made many students in my 7th and 8th period English 10 classes smile brightly. The faux-formal use of “Allemang,” and phrases like “went missing at around 9:45 AM,” and “shortly after homeroom…” make this article a subtle, sarcastic success that clings to the reader’s facial muscles and very gradually pulls them outward and upward, revealing a white-toothed grin that pairs perfectly with a Friday afternoon.
Thanks Leslie and Allemander!

I can now sleep again knowing that Juan has his pencils. Better love story than Titanic.
