It’s fall. The weather is getting colder, pumpkin spice lattes are being consumed like water, and the fall play is rehearsing its new production, Robin Hood.

Fall Play is one of the extra-curricular activities at BPSD. This year, Fall Play is performing on Nov. 12, 13, and 14. Participants who are involved in the production are rehearsing all days of the school week, save for Fridays. Rehearsals run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., then switch to 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and finally, when it gets closer to the production date, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Students are busy right from when they join Fall Play to when the performance date is.

“Everyone is busy at rehearsals,” freshman Sabrina Meyers said. “Whether they are on stage or working on props, they’re pretty much always working.”

Ms. Falce, Fall Play director, said, “We do what’s called blocking, which is going through the play from start to finish, and we block out the scenes, and then we go back, and we practice that again, and then we tack on a new scene…”

This slow-going process is what makes the production refined into what the community sees when the play is performed.

According to Senior Cameron Nickel, “To prepare for the production, actors must work on character development, comedic timing, dialect, and, often, messing around with different ways to play the selected scene.”

Fall Play rehearsals may be busy some days and laid back some days, but every rehearsal is crucial in the development of the production.
