Bethel Park Drumline and Bethettes perform in honor of homecoming weekend

On Friday, Sept. 25, members of the BPHS Drumline and Bethettes as well as participating staff members welcomed students with music as they walked into school to kick off homecoming weekend.

The group marched to the front entrance of the school and performed cadence as the buses began to pull up and the students and staff walked by to enter the building. Students and staff alike were pleased with the interesting way to start their school day.

Sophomore Alex Turner said, “It made me look forward to the school day and the homecoming game.”

The drumline hoped to get students excited about the upcoming festivities and show the importance of school spirit at BPHS. The event finished off Spirit Week, which got students more involved in and excited about their school.

“School spirit is important to unify the student body,” said junior Logan Runco.

The performance visibly spread school spirit throughout the halls of BPHS, and some students are already eager for another performance like this.

Senior Christian Beck, leader of the bass drum section of the drumline, said, “I’d love to do something like this again; I really enjoy performing for people and seeing their reactions.”

There are no specific plans yet for another morning show; however, both the band and the students hope for more Friday mornings to start off like this.
