As the fall season progresses, the Bethel Park community is coming together to support those affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
Recognizing those in need, the Bethel Park Municipal Council and Mayor have partnered with the Black Hawk Family Relief Fund and SHIM to organize a food drive.
Members of the community are encouraged to participate in this initiative by donating non-perishable food items beginning Oct. 29.
The following are locations where donations can be made:
- Bethel Park Public Library: 5100 W. Library Ave.
- Community Center: 5151 Park Ave.
- Evey True Value Hardware: 5779 Library Rd.
- Jugo-Slav Club: 5225 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
- Police Department: 5100 W. Library Ave.
- Reginald’s Coffee: Schoolhouse Arts & History Center, 2600 South Park Rd.
For individuals who would rather donate financially, donations can also be made directly to SHIM by mailing a check to the Black Hawk Family Relief Fund at 5799 Glen Ora Dr.
People can follow in the steps of others who have already made generous donations to the project.
Notably, South Hills Movers, as well as Shop ‘N’ Save, made significant contributions.
Nevertheless, regardless of the size, every donation counts. Both food and funds will contribute to improving the situation of struggling families in the area.
Together, the community can demonstrate the strength and compassion for those who seek relief in this difficult period.
