Travis Scott will perform at Super Bowl halftime show

After a long-awaited search and commitment of who will perform alongside Maroon 5 at halftime of Super Bowl LIII, we finally have an answer: Travis Scott.

Twitter was fast to attack the 26-year-old rapper from Houston for accepting the honor because of the Colin Kaepernick and National Anthem controversy that has occurred in the last three years during football games in which African American players would kneel during the National Anthem to show their stance on racism and discrimination in the country. Colin Kaepernick is the leader of the movement.

It has been reported that Scott talked to Kaepernick before he ultimately made the decision to perform at the Super Bowl (although Scott denies it) and that Scott will donate a large amount of money to the Dream Corps, a social justice initiative group.
