Get to Know Terryn Ross: January Student of the Month

Terryn Ross, a junior here at BPHS, was January’s winner of the monthly PACS contest called “Student of the Month” for showing great academic achievement and by adding to the positive school culture of desired character, academic success and active participation in the school and local community.

What does it mean to you that you were nominated? It means so much to me to be nominated. I was definitely not expecting it at all, but I am happy to be given the opportunity.

Any tips on how to be a good and involved student? Or how to win this contest? I encourage students to participate in as many activities and clubs as possible. Not only will this make your high school experience more interesting, but it will also create new friendships and increase your chances of being nominated.

Upon winning, you received a $50 Amazon gift card: What did you spend it on? I haven’t exactly thought about what I will use my gift card on yet, but I will probably end up buying more things to redecorate my room with.

What school clubs and activities are you involved in?  I am currently in STAND. STAND is a diversity club here at the high school. We do many things involving the community and outreach programs. Our sponsor is Ms. Ford who is one of the nurses at the high school. The club is easy to join and a great way to meet new people and give back to the community. I am also a Bethette for the marching band.

What are your plans after high school? I plan on going to college after high school, although I am not exactly sure what I want to major in. I would love to attend Penn State.
