Get to know Mr. Fink: November Staff Member of the Month

Mr. Fink is a history teacher at BPHS and was named the November Staff Member of the Month by PACS.  He was voted on by his peers and students. He is a well-liked teacher by his students and peers.

From first-hand experience, his class was enjoyable and it was a good overall year.

Mr. Fink was kind enough to answer some questions to get to know him better, so here they are.

How long have you been teaching? 17 years at BPHS

What made you choose History? I chose History because I had some great History teachers when I was in high school.  They were passionate about the subject and made learning fun.  I’ve also always enjoyed learning about the American Revolution time period.

Who is your favorite soccer player? My favorite soccer player of all time was Eric Cantona.  He was a legend for Manchester United and France.  He has been retired since 1997. Currently, I really enjoy watching Zlatan Ibrahimovic play soccer.  Both of these guys play the game with an intensity that is rare.

Do you still play when you can? I still play soccer myself in various adult outdoor and indoor leagues.  I’ll keep playing the game for as long as I can.

Favorite Christmas movie and song?  My favorite Christmas movie is “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”  It still makes me laugh.  My favorite Christmas song is “Silent Night.”  I have a wife, four boys, and a puppy, so I don’t get too many silent nights!

Favorite sports teams?  My favorite sports teams are Liverpool, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and of course all of the BP sports teams!  I grew up in New Hampshire so I’ve always followed the Boston teams.

Favorite actor? My favorite actor is Matt Damon.  I really enjoyed his performance in “Good Will Hunting.”
