Student Musician of the Week: Alec Dady

Senior tenor saxophone player Alec Dady is involved in Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Marching Band.

Alec started playing music in fourth grade when he learned to play the alto saxophone.

He plans to attend Penn State for a degree in computer science, but he will continue to play the saxophone as a hobby. His dream, however, would be to play in an ensemble like Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band.

Dady gets his inspiration from John Coltrane, about whom he said, “The way he can go around the sax at such a fast speed and make sensible music out of it is incredible.”
