Students talk ‘life after marching band’

With the regular marching band season ending after the football team’s loss against Woodland Hills, band members are finding out what life after marching band is to them.

Senior quads player Billy McDonald said, “I’m sad to see it end but it’s a good feeling after all the work I put in. I plan on going to RMU, but I have not yet decided if I will be joining marching band.”

Another senior, majorette Samantha Pauley, said, “I am still undecided about where I’m going to college, but I do plan to be a part of marching band and twirl. Marching band was such a big part on my life that will be missed.”

While members of the marching band are sad to see the season end, preparation for spring trip will begin soon.

Patty Ice, a junior trombone player, said, “You have to keep practicing because band is never over.”

Sophomore snare-drummer Tyler Petrossi said, “I’m starting musical practices and going down to the CLO, and also getting ready for spring trip.”

Majorette Brooke Taylor said, “I sit at home and cry because marching band is over.”

It is an emotional time for everybody as members say goodbye to seniors and find other things to do with their time, but underclassmen have next season to look forward to and marchers will continue their adventure this spring in Chicago.
