If one has seen the 2015 documentary on Joplin, they will realize what this song probably meant to her.
Her words are genuine and this song is not just something to make money off of.
Her struggles through life are something most can relate to, and she wants the listener to take comfort in that. All they need to do is get through whatever rough time they’re going through, and everything will be fine in the end.
