Guns N’ Roses announce North American tour

On Friday, April 1, at an intimate concert in Los Angeles, members of Guns N’ Roses, Slash, Axl Rose, Duff McKagan and other unspecified band members announced their Not In This Lifetime tour.

On this tour, Guns N’ Roses will be playing in 21 cities over North America within a span of two months. The first show they are playing will be on June 23 in Detroit, and the ending show will be played in San Diego on August 22.

Guns N’ Roses haven’t played a gig in almost 23 years, but there were many bumps in the road when it came to reuniting with other band members and performing together.

In a 2007 interview, Slash, the lead guitarist, opened up as to why he left Guns N’ Roses. Slash began to say that he quit after Axl Rose had other members sign contracts “like we were defined as hired hands.”

Slash also stated that he and Axl haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye on Guns N’ Roses. Even so Slash said, “Axl’s whole visionary style, as far as his input in Guns N’ Roses, is completely different from mine. I just like to play guitar, write a good riff, go out there and play, as opposed to presenting an image.”

But now, almost the whole band has gotten back together to play this Not In This Lifetime tour. Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagen, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and new keyboardist Melissa Reese will all be performing on this tour.
