The Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers (5-1-1) by the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) live on Sunday Night Football 35-25 at Acrisure Stadium proved to be a disappointing one.
The game began with promise for Pittsburgh, as they managed to quickly fend off Green Bay’s opening drive and secure a field goal from Chris Boswell to go up by three.
The momentum gained by Pittsburgh was short-lived, as Green Bay’s starting quarterback Jordan Love came back with a touchdown to Tucker Kraft, taking the lead.
However, Pittsburgh would respond strongly heading into the second quarter, as Chris Boswell would kick two more field goals.
DK Metcalf would also catch a touchdown in the endzone to make it 16-7 at the end of the half.
Although, as the second half unfolded, it became apparent Green Bay made changes in their offense following a missed field goal from Brandon McCanus.
Love would connect over twenty straight receptions, culminating in two passing touchdowns to Kraft once again and Savion Williams, a rushing touchdown by Josh Jacobs, and three field goals from McCanus.
Despite a late touchdown to Roman Wilson, Pittsburgh’s efforts weren’t enough, resulting in another loss for the Mike Tomlin-led team.
This loss was met with criticism for Pittsburgh.
Alongside another weak performance from the defense, many criticized the coaching staff for not altering their strategy.
This also coincides with the continued poor play of the offensive line, which failed to stop four-time Pro Bowler Micah Parsons.
On the other hand, many positives came out of the game for Green Bay. Notably, Love showed out, throwing for nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns.
Many fans also discussed the performance of the referees, specifically Shawn Hochuli, who was widely criticized for his calls in the days that followed.

As Pittsburgh looks to recover from a second loss in a row, the team must look forward to another home game at 1 p.m. on Sunday against Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis team has proven many wrong during the season, with Daniel Jones and Johanthan Taylor ranking amongst the highest in the league at their respective positions.
At the same time, Green Bay must return to Lambeau Field to meet a Carolina team that is coming off a rough thirty-one-point loss to Buffalo.
Nonetheless, many are interested to see how Pittsburgh bounces back.
Whether it’s the recent signing of Marquez Valdez-Scantling or improvements to other areas of the team, Pittsburgh will have to make a move now if it wants to remain competitive in the AFC North.
